I don't think that's the case, the vehicles are different configurations. The sedan is probably longer to get some more trunk space, and or meet the design criteria.

Just for future reference to the aerosol insulating foam's. Try 2 part marine flotation foam. It's what's useed to fill the void between the inner/outer hull's of fiberglass...

You could just hook it to a switch. I'd go with a thermostat and relay though to be on the safe side. you could wire in an over ride switch and maybe an LED to remind you you in over ride mod.
