0w-30 should be a safe replacement for 5w-30, and should increase efficiency in cold weather and short trips. Going thinner on the higher number might be OK, but an oil analysis might be a good idea...

Aero will help more than weight at higher speeds. Convex mirrors on the inside of the doors and a wide-angle rearview mirror will give you at least as much rear and side vision as the factory...
