Have you found any in the Ecomodder garage? Silence is likely an indication of ignorance. Rather than get single anecdotes on a forum, it's more useful to see a compilation of data such as...

Ford Focus Mileage | Fuelly

My MPG Estimates

Out of only 10 entries, it looks to be averaging 36 MPG.

Ever since gas prices dropped, it's been pretty quiet around here. Even before that, I don't think any regular posters had a 1.0L Ecoboost car. I thought about getting one, a white Fiesta sedan, but went with a Prius instead.

Dont' think anyone has the Focus 1.0 here.

I've driven the Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost with DCT. Didn't find it any more economical than a decent 1.6, but it was still pretty "green" when I drove it. Perhaps with more miles on the car, it would have been better.

Engine is good. Hate the transmission. A bit lumpy around town. Combined with a throttle that sticks open too long after you let off, it's a bit meh compared to a good traditional automatic like the Mazda2's.

I have had the ecoboost fiesta since October 2014. I have tracked all my fuel purchases since I joined ecomodder in November 2015.

My real-world numbers have been excellent. I typically average about 45-46 mpg during my commute in the spring through fall. When I have to take trips where the drive is all freeway, it easily hits 50 for the trip. Being in Ohio, the cold takes its toll in the winter. Once the temperature drops below 40 F, it is difficult to keep the mpg's up.

My last few tanks have only averaged about 41. We have had a lot of days near 0 F and lots of wind. I have been very happy with the car because of how easy it is to get the good mpg. I have had one tank where the average was below 40 (39.9), which was the first tank I had the car.

I looked over your fuel log, what do you mean by "changed acceleration rates. Seems what works best in the summer is not as good as the winter."?

I started to accelerate more quickly. With the really cold weather, it takes a lot longer to warm up and get into the more efficient zone for the car. Accelerating a little harder helped speed up this process.

I'm considering a Focus 1.0L. Not because the 1.0L is an impressive engine or because it gets good mileage, but because the 5 speed transmission used behind the 2.0L NA engine is awful to drive.

It should work out well. Provided you know how to drive a GTDI engine for fuel mileage.

I haven't been in the Focus yet, but I tested the Fiesta 1.0L a while back. It's an amazing little beast.

I'd be happy to have a Fiesta as a DD, but I'm torn between the tiny three and the ST. So much bang for the buck with the ST. Wicked fun when you're on it and does okay MPG wise if you have the discipline to stay out of the boost.

It's kinda surprising to me that a manual transmission is available for the Focus with the 2.0L there in the States. Here in Brazil it's only available with the 1.6L.

Anyway, since nowadays the 1.0L Ecoboost is the engine of choice in about 25% of the brand-new Ford cars in Europe, there might be a good reason for its availability to be extended to the U.S.-spec Focus too. It has been rumored that it's also coming to the Argentinian Focus, with the engines to be supplied from the Camaçari engine plant.
