1992 XFi ( 71.67 MPG )
I have a 1992 Geo Metro XFi that I bought from an older lady. She bought it new. It is in very good condition, never driven in bad weather or in rain. Always parked in garage when not driven.. When I bought it, it had 22,000 original miles. When I got it I put new timing belt, alt belt, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button.Replaced items only because of age of car. Nothing was wore out, just wanted everything fresh. Using Pennzoil Plat 5/30 oil. Timing set at 8* BTDC. Only mod's so far are, Lexan headlight covers, and Moon hubcaps.Filled car at gas station close to my home. Sunoco 87 octane. Filled to the top of neck. I drove 28 miles to interstate, consisting of hills in country, some in town driving, and very little flat roads. Got on interstate and drove a total of 41.4 miles on interstate, then back to gas station another 28 miles for a total of 97.4 miles.
It took 1.359 gallons of gas to fill to top of neck, right on the threads of cap.
I was driving strickly for MPG's most constant speed to and from interstate approx 50 MPH.. Most constant speed on interstate was 57 MPH.. No coasting or drafting on interstate, but did some coasting to and from interstate.
I think with some future mod's I can get 75 MPG..
