Is there a leak in the exhaust mani or is the a/c compressor going out? the engine has residue near the powersteering pump..

also, i just checked blue book, person to person value is 2365, and a dealer resale is 3365.. almost a 2000 difference(if going by dealer price). So if somebody buys the car and it gets totalled, they are out at least 2000bucks. nice car tho.

Good observation skills ekhaze - took me a while to see what you are talking about but finally saw the dark patch on the right side of the cyl head in the photo.

Just inspected the engine with a flashlight and saw what appears to be very slight seepage from the valve cover gasket. The zones around the A/C compressor and PS pump are dry and the seepage pattern points to the valve cover gasket on the cam side since there is a corresponding oily patch on the back side corner.

May be time to check the torque on the VC bolts - perhaps they need tightening since the last timing belt service in 2008. Otherwise, there are no leaks as the carport pad is bone dry and oil consumption is near nil between the yearly Mobil 1 oil changes.
