1997 Toyota Tercel Turbo Diesel (Surrey BC)
Wow, if this thing was in the US I'd be all over it... I've never seen a diesel Tercel on this continent.

Probably a 2CT. If you can get a decent shipping quote used engines only run a couple hundred from overseas. It'd make a neat swap provided someone didn't have to smog it.

I've heard of the swap being done by one guy. Its actually called a 1-NT. He said hes getting around 50 mpg. I'm sure we could do better, but thats not bad.

Looks pretty clean too. It appears to be a 4cyl. At least if I was seeing the lines to the fuel injectors correctly. Your right Daox, a Toyota diesel would be so killin!
Vancover BC is do able. The speedo reads KM's though!

Keep it at or 100km/hr and you will get good FE. I never had trouble knowing how fast a km/hr was, on our 82 I always wanted to look at the small orange numbers.

100KM=62MPH, or close to it. A Toyota Diesel would be sooooooo awesome!

Too bad that posting's expired.... I'd love to see how it was done. I can do 58mpg in my Tercel, I bet I could get an easy 75 if it were diesel.

I don't remember what it was posted for, but I remember it sounding reasonable. $3500 or in that area I'd imagine.
