1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS 50+% Above EPA!

When I drove like a jackrabbit tanks ago, I used to blame my 20-25 mpg tanks on the AWD, multiple hood scoops stock, and spoiler.

Since my SGII, the first 100 miles I averaged 40mpg rural city driving a couple miles to work. I road tripped to Santa Cruz and squeezed 453 miles out of the remaining tank. 14 gallon previous fill, refilled to 13.3. 50 mpg from 1500' Placerville to 500' Santa Cruz Mtns.

I have seen the top of the mountain, and it is good.

Speaking of amazing, kYLEMtnCRUZr's first tank beat my best tank by 0.01mpg. Great first effort, and welcome.

There's a lot more room in Subaru tanks than most people think:

Wow NachtRitter, I never met anyone in Placerville on the interwebs. Awesome. Our AWD didn't quite pay off last season with the lack of snow huh? I went boarding once! Oh well, see you in town, my Subaru is white with black wheels usually.

But in a Legacy wagon which is probably a quarter ton heavier than my coupe, you're doing pretty good even though I "beat you" haha. That's SUV hybrid territory!

Does your Jetta TDI have black OZ wheels? I may have seen you around.

Hey kYLE... my wagon is white & usually has gold BBS wheels ... or sometimes gold OZ Superleggeras. The Jetta is also white, but very plain... it's my daily driver & I've learned from experience that the less flashy, the better

I'll keep my eyes open... I usually give other Subie owners a wave when I'm driving the wagon anyway.
