Good luck getting anybody, especially a woman to change driving behavior.

1. On a trip that short, it could make a difference as the engine probably doesn't even reach operating temperature
2. Well, I adjusted my driving behaviour quite sucessfully and I'm a woman
I'm number 1 for my make and model on Spritmonitor and get over 165% of my EPA rating.

My post sounded critical, but I was in entire agreement with everything you stated. Some people are willing to put in more effort, but most want the quick fixes, and on most car forums, people are looking for reasons to throw money at the car.

I mean, a 1KR swap would fix the issue of high fuel consumption and with the hybrid drivetrain accelleration wouldn't even be bad.
It would just be down on power a little...

You'd be more likely to get 2-3 mpg by dropping down to lightweight aluminum 17/18" wheels.

Well, that's a relief. When you used the word gender yesterday I was triggered.
The place to start would be to bellmouth the intake and exhaust.

Excuse my question, but why is mentioning the word gender considered triggering?

It was a joke at the expense of the political Left in my country.

This is my vote. If you look at most modern hybrids, there's typically a standard and a touring trim. The difference is often 4-6mpg, and typically the single largest contributor to that is that the touring has larger, heavier wheels with a different compound.
Of course, do what you need to do for safety.

At one time I said to paraphrase, "I'll never get a good tank...I'm married." Well, I might be wrong. We finally got a 2018 Honda CRV that has Instant, Trip, and Tank mpg readouts. On a trip last week of 3 1/2 hours north and return, she drove north and got 38 mpg. I drove back south and got 36 mpg. Yes, these are readouts from the car and calculated at the pump is usually 2 mpg less. But she is competitive and beat me on this drive...of course I like to think it's because of the southwest wind along the route.
