DOFZO, you have followed up on more VXes than I have with HXes! Good luck!
Cbaber, I have never asked to see their photo ID, although I would be suspicious if they had already signed the title. My e-mail last night was simply "Nicole, when can I look at the car? I can clear my schedule to see it anytime. Thank you very much."
I am tempted to ask a roommate or friend to text and see if they get a response.

I dunno, sometimes "sellers" are just plain weird. I got a free Tempo online once and it was NICE! There is no reason I can think of why the "seller" wouldn't have tried to actually sell it, and for more than $1000 at that. Oh well, I wasn't going to stand there and talk her out of it. Yes, it had clear title and all that.

I marked the listing as spam after I found "Nicole's" response in my spam folder. She was trying the departing servicemember scam, and actually doing everything that Craigslist warns us

The car will be shipped to the buyer's address for a 5 days inspection period (shipping 48-72 hrs). So, this is not a blind transaction, you can physically see the car before committing to buy and to eliminate any concerns. All documents you need for ownership, title, manuals, carfax buyback guarantee and bill of sale will be provided along with the vehicle.

At that point, she just asked for my full name and address, but how would it be a scam if she did not ask for money?
Anybody else want to sell me a nonexistant Prius? $1,990 is way too much!

Plastic wrap floormats and no plates = salesperson at dealership got told they get a spiff if they take the thing home and sell it. Or the pics are from a dealers ad and got used by someone else as part of a scam, as you found. I could take pics of 100 cars at the auction and post them all as my own, it would only take a few people to fall for it to make it worth the time lol.

If you agreed and responded to that email, they probably would have wanted you to pay part of the shipping or buy some insurance or something. I bet they can get someone to pay $150 shipping easier than getting someone to wire $2000 without seeing the car.
