A graduate student,Feisal Ahmed did an analysis of a RAM pickup.He found that below 6" and above 3" ground clearance,and airdam increased drag.Lowering it to 3" or below lowered the drag 1% (1/2% mpg).But that was for racing only,as it would never survive curbs,parking lot obstructions, or driveway ramps.
One member has already had to raise their airdam to restore their best mpg.
