Since it's your first manual, the first tanks are likely to not be that great. But I bet I could get between 36MPG in city and 42MPG in highway out of a similar car without too much effort.

I got a few times i drove an Hyunda i30 (2012) with the 1.6l benzine at 120km/h (75mph) i averaged 4,9l/100km (48mph US).

I did almost no hypermiling. Except letting the throttle go soon enough for dfco.

So you will get there if you practice enough
Good luck!

48MPG at that speed, out of a gasser, is really kinda impressive.

Just a update. Ive been getting around 32 in the city since i have my bike for the summer and only drive when its raining. I plan 9n switching the 5w-20 to 0w-20, led bulbs where possible, and finally fixing the air dam That was missing when i bought it. That and making sure the tires are at almost 40pSi

Update: rotated the tires and bumped up the pressure back to 40. Replaced the spark plugs and oil with 0w-20 over the stock 5w-20. Current mpg with half highway and half city is 38-40mpg so hopefully it goes up somemore even with winter gas no in the tank. Next planned mods: led backup lights, led brake lights, (possible turn signals also), clean out the car (messy equals more weight), look for some weight reduction ideas, maybe ditch the tow hitch (weight reduction), lighter rims and go up to 15in and get lRR tires like on my fiesta.

Update did a power steering delete with a kia rio manual rack waiting on seeing the gains from that. Switched almost all bulbs to led to help reduce gas being wasted. Next planned mods is to get my car cleaned out and start looking for ways to reduce weight. Look into maybe lowing it a bit with megan racing springs. Keep better track of fuel logs (my winter mpg has been 34-40 mpg depending on how much city and highway. And lastly look at trying to aero mod the grill to do a partual grill block.

I know the weight savings and aerodynamic benefits might seem nearly negligible at first, but what about a single-arm wiper?

New update the car is now about a inch lower (had to do some front end stuff so i lowered it. ive been getting about 36 city winter time. So well see what my summer mpg is going to be interesting. Next mod ive been looking at is still weight reduction but also a oversized (underdrive) water pump pulley. Just have to find someone to make it for me
