2012 Chevy Volt - $13,000 (Madison, WI)
Its not mine, just found it perousing craigslist. I'd be tempted for the price...
On the critic side... who the heck buys a Volt to put on 50k miles a year!?!?!

Yeah, at 50k miles/yr that's definitely using the wrong tool for the job.

Better that it was actually used, unlike the government owned Volts I see that seem to never move and are never plugged in or even near an outlet.
Wish I could find one for that price near me. The cheapest one I can find within 500 miles of me is $19k. Probably better for my wallet anyway...

Which 2012 vehicle would you suggest? Cruze? Prius?

I think you guys underestimate how good the Volt is even with pure IC. It's rated at 37 mpg combined cty/hwy on gas. I was happy to see that post earlier about a Volt with 200k miles. Such a nice car... I'm dreaming.

So we really dont know if it was used in the phev mode at this point? I had an engine 4 kilowatt kit and drove 150 miles a day at one point and plugged it in at both ends of my trip.

Thats easy to figure, just ask him what the lifetime MPG is, it can provide a means of calculating the EV % very closely.
