I never really lost my love affair with big cars. But I have gained an appreciation for how good small cars can be.

We are still very far from two dollars a gallon and when we hit that the first time, I bought a bike. I doubt that I will ever consider gas to be cheap again.

I had a 71 LTD with a 351 Cleveland back in the day, and LOVED it.

Of course, I couldn't afford gas for it, so by the end of the week I would be walking to work. I lived in Illinois at the time, and five miles is a looooooong walk in the winter time!

Never again!

I'll keep the same cars....might go faster than 90km/hr (55mph) on occasion though.

...Talk about living it up!

Now is the time to stock up on eco cars and sell for inflated price when gas goes back up

One of the things I wonder about in idle moments: just WHAT are all these people compensating for, anyway? Smaller cars (and trucks) are more convenient, more fun, often more comfortable - and IMHO anyway, it's nice to have a few extra thousand in the stash.

I like bigger cars if they have a substantial feel, or in other words, if they have a bit of that bank-vault feel. Camrys and Crown Vics/Grand Marquis/Town Cars score highly on that measure.

I've been seeing more Insights popping up on Craigslist lately for very reasonable prices.

People have short memories and even shorter perspectives.
