ride went well, we missed the results on sunday since we had prior obligations. I think my FE came out to 110.5mpg. but I'll have to wait for the official results. the riding was quite aggressive, but very fun. more when I get home.

Ben, I'm glad you were able to complete the run this year. I wasn't able to make it this year. I was on the F650GS Dakar last year. Can't wait to hear what the results from 2012 are.

stuck south of detroit, my car is having issues with fuel delivery. Possible vaporlock due to high underhood temps? it's at a shop now. hope to be home tonight.

It was good meeting you and getting to see the rig in person, along with all the other challengers. Hopefully we can meet up again in the near future, compare notes and possibly come up with new ideas.

Congratulations on a 110mpg result! Good work!

Please show some detail pictures on the as-raced streamlining. There seems to be a consensus that only water cooled motors can survive streamlining. How do you address getting adequate cooling air for the air cooled motor?

Sorry for the delay in posting, I have been ridiculously busy this last few days. it seems like everything is happening at once.

I made it home fine, though my car did not. turns out I need a new fuel pump, and it will cost $500 to fix. Needless to say I am now in the market for a newer (read less than 150000mi) vehicle. the bike is currently my only option for transportation.
on the upside, I got 130mpg on the ride home!! took the rural routes, and cruised along at or above 55mph. I enjoy this type of riding better than racing along on the freeway anyway.

I will work on getting a few pics up when I get home from work tonight.
