May 4 will be here before you know it!! Who is going to be competing in Carmel? I'll be attending and I know Alan Smith and Craig will be there with RedYaris planning to attend ( a long ride from Alberta). Defending Champ Fred Hayes will likely be there as well as Treven Baker on their diesel-powered bikes. Please let us know if you are planning to ride with us.
best wishes , L&S

I plan to attend although the VT500 may not be ready. I will ride my GS500, which in its present configuration should get 81 -87 mpg. The ride to Carmel is a 2800km/1740mile and should take 3 or 4 days.
Has the date and place for the Washington State event been established yet?

The Quail Vetter Challenge is May 4. Everybody I know is working as hard as they can to be there with a finished machine. I confess... my Helix will not be finished. But it will be a lot more finished than it was a year ago.
What is important here is to meet, ride, talk, get to know each other and show the world what is possible. After the Quail ride (one of the nicest you will ever have ridden) your bikes can be on display in front of my tent on the green. This is a wonderful setting that attracts the West Coast's most enthusiastic motorcyclists. These folks are interested. Just come. It is worth it. Craig Vetter

Some of you are looking for a place on the Quail registration form to indicate that you will be riding as a Vetter Challenger. I just double checked the Ride application on the Quail site, and on page 3 there is a box to check pertaining to participating in the Vetter Challenge.

I missed it too.

I'm not sure exactly who or what to ask, but I'm wanting to run my bike in OH, do I need to preregister? Is there a tech inspection, enterance fee, gate fee? Or do we just show up? Thanks...green joe

Regarding the Mid Ohio Challenge: It is easy. You will have to register to attend the AMA Mid Ohio Event. Go to the AMA web page and sign up. That gets you into the track and swap meet. The Challenge will depart from the track Friday morning.

(This is the greatest motorcycle swap meet in the world, by the way.)

Just show up. We will meet the night before...Thursday evening... probably the parking lot of the motel I will be staying at... probably the same one as last year. Drink some beer... get to know each other... discuss the ride the next morning... go over the goals, etc. Check for grocery carrying.

I will be posting everything on my web page.

You will like this.

To anyone not sure about going... even if you have just a regular plain Jane stock bike, go, it is FUN! Having stock "control" bikes to measure the high mpg bikes and cars against give real world comparisons to what is being done. I have some conflicts so I'm not 100% sure I can make the Mid Ohio event. :-(

So its in Lacey June 2nd? I can find the date all over but Mr. Vetter's site does not say location yet. If its in Lacey Ill be sure to show up with the 50mpg Buell, saddy my project bike wont be ready till next year but should be fun anyway.
