2016 Scion iM

I thought I'd start a thread for the new Scion iM concept car that will be going in to production in 2016 according to Scion. It looks like an aggressive Matrix to me, but its based off the European Auris.

It'll be interesting to see what engine they put in it... In Europe they can get gas, diesel, or hybrid. As the article says, it'll probably get the Corolla's 2ZR-FE.

This is a return of the xA, with more aggressive look. I hope they lower the hatch floor - for better aero and much more hatch volume. And please, please, please Toyota - put proper gearing in the manual transmission!

It looks a lot bigger than the xA to me. Though, the Auris is smaller than the Matrix I think.

If we ever secure a sufficient nerd herd to convince manufacturers to continue offering manual transmissions as an option, I can see them charging extra for a tall top gear.

I thought production was haulted due to the sunami/nuclear melt down and the only car in production was a joint venture with subaroo? I tried to buy a 2nd gen xb and was told they were discontinued.

I think the iQ is being phased out, and they introduced a new model recently: the FR-S which come to think of it, looks like a rebadged BR-Z. They are still listing 5 models on their web site.

As long as Toyota has showrooms and their marketing people decide that the kids don't want to drive Grandma's Camry, Scion will be a thing.

Still looks like a design-by-Asian Godzilla School of Automotive Transformers.
