4 does-for-more-bros (97 civic dx sedan: HX + auto to manual swap)

Hey, im starting a new project, I just picked up a 97 civic dx sedan for 750 bucks running and working ac! and im converting it to an hx and doing auto to manual. My goal is to get 55-60 mpg and not be sweating my butt off in texas and also have a nice looking car. Ill update as much as possible. I ran into my first little hicup thou, I got some pretty low numbers on my compression test on my hx (120,150,120,150) I havnt checked it on the new car yet but if its higher ill probably use that block and put my hx head on it. Not sure if I want to rebuild mine or not, ive never done it before but I might as well if im going to have it out

I knew a guy who had a knife handle for his gear selector and he could really wrestle it into gear turning the tranny oil a nice brown color.

Hell yah, this bmx grip feels so good. I can hammer this bad boy into any gear i want without pushing the clutch. No amount of grinding will ever stop me

I'll be watching this thread. Just be sure to spend lightly or else it could take a couple hundred thousand miles to break even...

Oh don't you worry brother!! i picked that bad boy up for 750 and don't plan on selling my coupe for any less then 2000. I plan on proffiting. Worst case, I'll break even and have a way way nicer car then before. That was the plan.

Yah slownugly. Your build kind of inspired me. I've never had a 4 door before so I'm pretty stoked. Since I'm starting from scratch I'm going to make this thing the extremest mpg missile in texas
