5 MPG increase in Firebird Formula

Back in Fanuary I picked up a 1999 Firebird Formula 6 Speed 5.7L.

It has bolt ons and a very very rich tune (Haven't had the chance to get it detuned)

When I started driving it I was getting 15-16 mpg (City driving).

I bought an ultragauge and after getting it calibrated correctly, I'm seeing about 21.5 MPG. I usually average about 23 for most of the tank, but when I hit traffic and, not so smart drivers, it plummets quickly.

Pretty content with that. its become my daily driver as I'm working on my truck.

Hey guys 23 mpg out of this kind of car is great, considering what it is. Big overpowered engine, fairly heavy coupe. And made a big % improvement over when he first got it.
Good job Debonair.

Old EPA is 19/22/28, which is pretty easy to meet or beat.

Not around here. Between traffic, people pulling out in front of me to go 5 mph under the speed limit downhill, and people just generally driving like idiots really makes it difficult to hit and stay over 21. Just today i started with 22.8 MPG, near the end of it I was down to 20.9.

Of a completely stock car, mine is not stock.

And those estimates are based on 55% city and 45% highway, whereas I'm closer to 80% city.
