New pony in the stable

96 geo metro base. 97k miles. 5 speed with ac. No power steering. Great condition. Two logs so far, averaging a solid 8 mpg over my winter averages with the escort.

Amazing how you have to relearn a new vehicle. Any tips on p&g mph shift points and any other pointers would be appreciated.

wow; of course you put up some phenomenal numbers with the 'scort, so you have a lot of skill already.

I just read your fuel log - pretty comprehensive. What's your air deflector look like, and other than roof rack, UD pulley, and 2co, what are your other mods?

No other mods. Air deflector was the stock missing piece. I have a gps, and that is what the "MA" and "max" are. MA is moving average mph, and max is the max speed I hit during that log. Gives a general idea of how much city vs highway driving I did.

My wife has taken over driving it since I have the geo. It's back to 30-34 mpg averages.

I was hoping for some geo owners to chime in with their shift points so I didn't have to figure them out on my own.

I live in east Tn. Terrain is somewhat hilly, so I have to take advantage of them when I can and really feather on uphills. I was really hardcore on p&g, but started doing more soft p&g and didn't lose too much.

I actually have a set of Gt side skirts to go on it, and plan on lowering it when I put new shocks on it. Kicked around the idea of a grill block, but didn't want to drill the prime condition front bumper.
