I have not done any MPG logs for the truck. I really need to quit driving it so I can start saving more money. I actually spent about 5 hours today cleaning all the mud from the undercarriage. It was packed in there pretty good. I also had to remove the wheels and clean the mud from inside the rims and my brakes. I found a leaking brake line on the LR wheel and fixed that also. No major damage was done from our night out. I am still waiting for a friend to email me the pictures of me getting stuck in the huge mudhole I was in.

Here are some pics of the mud I had under my ride..........

The lower valance has since been removed and those recovery hooks are coming off since I snapped the right one off during the 5 mile trail ride in a severe mudhole. Instead of the hooks, I will bolt a chain across there.

I will be down there this Friday also

I know all of this is not relevant to my success story unless you include the fuel savings from the long term and some of the fun I been having spending it.

I finally got the pics from our friend's daughter emailed to me. I mentioned only getting stuck once.........

As you can see, that hole was pretty deep. I was told to keep to the right while maneuvering between two holes, but apparently not far enough.

Notice the clean kid in the back of my truck? Well, he said he wanted to get muddy that night. He got out of the bed while I was being pulled out. The pull tractor was there within minutes. My friend hooked her up to the front of the truck..........

As I was coming out of the water, I started up the truck, dropped it in gear and hit the gas right after this shot........

Here is the priceless aftermath.................

Went again tonight.....................

My buddy brought his "John Deere" 1979 Ford Truck............

He got stuck multiple times...............

Then he broke his front drive shaft and then it would not start, so it ended up getting towed to the pits...............

I helped out getting the starter removed and cleaned out so they could go out with us, but it overheated after going through a mud pit and got parked.

The "5 Mile Trail" was so wet and soupy, it became an actual challenge! We did the trail 4 times. On the last run out, we ran into some poor kids in a little Geo Tracker that was dead. I offered to pull them out and gave them the ride of their lives! I dragged them through every mud hole I could find with my right foot to the floor! Those poor kids were totally dumbfounded and helpless. They were holding the brake through some of the dangerous curves with all 4 tires locked up while I dragged them through the woods like a sled. When we returned to the pits they were all laughing and covered in mud!

The best part about this is the Chevy never broke down after all this torture, and my buddy broke 3 Ford trucks in 2 visits, but I did lose my front license plate.....................

I guess I should report that.

Hahaha! Excellent show Jonny, Excellent! Both the very impressive FE, and the mudding!

If i was anywhere near such a spectacle, i'd drive out to see it.

Sadly, In my neck of the woods no such thing exists that I am aware of.

They are have a huge fireworks display tomorrow, so we are off again! My poor Metro still has the same gas in it from my last fuel log. I have begun doing some body work to it, so all it's downtime is really not being wasted
