800 mile tank

I really wasn't planning it, but it's been a perfect storm with great routes and perfect driving weather. 801 miles and 14.68 gallons. I may not beat that anytime soon, but it feels good

No mods other than 45 PSI in the tires. Some EOC, but only on select roads I know it's safe.

Awesome! I love how far the TDIs can go on a "normal" sized tank. My Subaru usually needs a fillup in the same distance that it takes the needle to move off 'F' on my TDI... Crazy!

Quiet you! Stop stealing my thunder!

I'm kidding, congratulations! 800 is a lo-o-o-ong tank. If my calculations are correct, that's around 56 MPG (EDIT: I guess I could have just clicked on your fuel log), which is pretty impressive.

Going for 60 anytime soon?

Thanks guys.

I think a 60 mpg tank is just possible with all highway driving, but I'm not sure when I'll have a chance to test it. I have a long road trip in December, but we'll probably be on winter fuel by then.

I think there's a kilotank out there waiting for you to come and get it.

My average speed tends to be quite low...26 or 27 mph, usually, but it varies a lot. This tank was probably a bit higher, with more highway driving.

Looking at your fuel log I can tell that if you'll just keep your constant grow in FE you'll reach 60+ MPG in no time
Congrats on 800miles tank! It's a great feeling to brake a record even if it's just your own.
