91 crx hf
Last tank got 58.1 mpg.
1991 unmolested true HF (except for air dam on front and non-original 13x5 "Honda" aluminum rims). Correct size 165x13" tires with less than 1k miles on them. New clutch installed less than 2k ago. Gearcase refilled with 0w20 synthetic. With a little more P&G and a little EOC, I fully expect to break out past 60 mpg on the current tank.
Rusty, dented, old car that is fun to drive and passes lots and lots of gas stations. Great running, good glass, new tires and clutch, all lights and options work means a reliable car that is ready to drive or restore.
I have decided I can't justify a 2 seater. Despite the fun game and economy this car provides, I find I'm having to drive my guzzler Suburban too often to haul around more than one kid at a time.
$1750
Might be a bargain for someone. Might be asking too much. That is just what it is worth to me to sacrifice it vs keeping it and using it when I can. Nothing like going on a 300 mile round trip for $18.

Pic of dash was from this morning. Sorry people of hurry, that is my highway speed. Note the speed vs tach. That is the awesome tall gear HF trans. Also note the gas needle vs the odometer (just turning 334 miles). From a gas fill (right up the fill pipe for accuracy) the gas needle doesn't start dropping until close to 300 miles then starts its steady descent. My fill ups have been in the 330-375 miles range on the tank, using in the 6 gallon to fill range.
Forgot to mention brand new air filter and split-fire plugs within the last fill up.
oh, also, I found a fender for $50 but have not picked it up yet.

don't pay any attention to that lil wheel chock. That's my parking brake on the hill of my driveway lol.
Body kit would be awesome to cover up the "blemishes". I have plans to add a kit over the winter if car is not sold and I'm still driving it. Please no "don't molest a virgin CRX HF" comments. It's my car to do to it what i want.
67!!!
Edit: stopped for gas. Filled it right up to the top of the spout, couldn't fit more.
67.26 mpg on this tank!! Yaay, broke 60 by a large margin. However the major change with this tank was a lot more freeway driving (at 60 mph of course).
Probably had 150 miles on the freeway of the 370 or so miles on that tank. Older measurements rarely had freeway miles on them.

Finally took the time to add my fuel log. Feels more official than the note pad in my glove box. Having to put in that 50.8 for my first tank bummed me out because it pulls down the lifetime average bad. The car came with giant Accord wheels n tires, nasty looking air filter, old plugs, etc. I drove it as is for the first tank to get a baseline to improve from.
Decided to bump tire pressure up from 45 to 55. They are brand new so they should handle it just fine. This should help a little on this tank.
I hope to get more miles on this current tank driving alone. Had a passenger (ugg, weight) for almost half of the miles on last tank.
I fully expect to break 70 mpg on this one. That is current goal, I can up it later right?
While adding air I looked at my brake roters thru the wheel and saw them shiny and new looking. Forgot to add to things done that there is brand new front rotors and ceramic pads. Had a warped rotor when I got it and even though we don't really use brakes on here (right?) the pulsing brake pedal drove me nuts.
Wish me luck on hitting 70.

Well, I finally replaced the embarrasing front fender.
Couldn't have been good for aero either.
Only 150 or so miles on my "target 70" tank so far. Hope to have over 300 by the weekend and I'll top her off for new fuel log entry.

I don't think I have the money right now to plop down on another cheap car, but would you happen to have a spare transmission, specifically an HF 5th gear?
Unless you want an EG... it's a 40mpg 4-seater.

Oh thanks, worth asking.
An EG is the popular abbreviation for a fifth generation Civic. 1992-1995.
88-91 EF
92-95 EG
96-00 EK
Just Honda geek shorthand. CRX is just CRX
