94 Metro 5 speed

Hi! A few years back I sold my CRX here with great luck. I figured that I would post my Metro here. Hopefully someone will enjoy the metro as much as they enjoyed the CRX. Here is the post I made on the geometro forum:

Up for sale is my 1994 Geo Metro (4 Door). I purchased this vehicle to commute back and forth to work. Meticulous maintenance and care has been followed as it needed to be reliable. It has been a hard decision to let it go because of the savings I have had with the car, but due to my economic circumstances and the amount of cars I currently own, I have to let it go. It is time to reduce on our number of projects and let someone else enjoy this car.

The interior of this car is in nearly perfect condition. The seats are in excellent shape (no tears), all panels are free of cracks (there is a hairline fracture on the middle console by the vents), all electronics on the car work (a/c fan, lights, radio, etc.). The vehicle currently has a Pioneer CD/mp3 player. Everything on the dashboard works. The car has working A/C. The only thing that I did not get around to figure out was the high beams on the car with the new headlights.

The frame body is absolutely straight. The car does have a few spots with surface rust but the car is still structurally sound (there is one half dollar dent on the driver’s fender and a few holes on the bumper that the previous owner drilled). I did not replace the brake pads on the car but the car brakes perfectly. The car has the stock 12” wheels and hub caps. Two of the tires are a bit worn. I am also including a full set of 13” wheels and tires that have decent thread (Includes full size spare). I also replaced the stock seat belts with regular seatbelts that bolt to the pillar instead of the door. I still have the original belts if you desire them.

The previous owner had the car sat for a few years so I replaced a few items at 95,000 miles. Timing belt, front main seal, Water pump, fuel pump, injector, spark plugs, new muffler (it was rusted), new radiator with hoses, 4 new speakers, new MPGuino, new LED headlights (much better visibility at night), new rear hatch shocks, one new door handle (it was broken). The carpet was dyed black since it had a coffee stain.

The paint on the car has lost its clear coat and is dull but doesn’t look terrible. Front emblem fell off, but I have it on the glove box.

The car is equipped with 1.0L 3 cylinder engine, 5 speed transmission. The transmission is in perfect condition, no grinds or pops. Clutch still grabs perfectly as well. I bought this car with the goal of obtaining the best fuel economy possible while retaining a reliable car. The car has approximately 97500 miles and has no problems whatsoever, if you would like we could run a compression test on all cylinders. I averaged around 42 mpg. This was obtained by driving normally (I do not hyper mile).

I am asking $1400 obo for it. This vehicle is sold as is, however I can assure you will not be disappointed. This has been a well thought out project. Vehicle is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. Buyer is responsible for pick up of the vehicle. If you have any questions or would like to come and take a look/drive just let me know.

Thanks for looking,

Rafael

Looks like a decent Metro for someone. Good luck with the sale.

What's your daily driver now?

Thank you for the kind comments. We have a mazda 3, an rx7 and my girl got a corolla. She wanted something automatic so the corolla has to stay snice all the other cars are manual.

I will probably drive the 3 since I occasionally have to take customers in my car. Unfortunately too many cars and we need money for home repairs, it would also help with Christmas too.

Congrats.

Mind me asking: selling price? (Feel free to say "none of yer bizzness.")

Was the new owner seeking an efficient Metro specifically, or just a good deal on a car?
