Sorry Whatmycome14, but I am in far west Tennessee, at least 800 miles from you I would guess. You are still welcome to see both cars anytime.

Yes, The VX gets much better MPG over the others due to the different transmission (3.25 final gear) and the lean burn engine.
Thanks a lot, man. I'm sure they'll look much cleaner on those than mine haha

Ah, I was wondering what the difference was. That thing had a lean burn engine? That's awesome! How many MPG can you get in lean burn?

I am able to get between 15 and 20 more MPG with the lean burn enabled than when lean burn drops out according to the MPGuino instant MPG meter.

Man, that's nice I love lean burn on my Insight. It really makes the car. That and the autostop/start.

Pre-heat of water and oil

Here are the three items we are using to pre-heat the water, engine oil and transmission fluid. In winter these mods add about 2 to 3 MPG to the trip total MPG and probably not that much in summer, but I still turn them on about 2 hours before leaving home and the shop. The pre-heat allows the engine to lean burn from the first mile driven and should help the engine live longer with no cold starts.

Number one item is the water heater and circulating pump that brings the water in the entire system to 125 degrees. The pump allows the water in the engine block and in the radiator to stay at 125 degrees.

Here is the 400 watt oil pan heating pad that will bring the oil up to 160 - 180 degrees in 2 hours.

Here is the transmission heating pad. It is 100 watts and allows the trans to shift smoothly from the start of the trip.

This thread = win!

That's a different kammback too right? The old one used to be carbon fiber if I remember correctly... I really like the look of it. I've been thinking of cutting mine down a little smaller than what it is now. I feel like it doesn't really go with the style and look that I want for my car.

Edit:On second glance I may be wrong. Just looked at the older pics of the kammback on your photobucket and it looks like it might be the same one. For some reason it looked different... Did you change the angle of it maybe?

Good eye Bluesteel, Yes it is the same carbon fiber kammback as before but I worked on the sides and added 2 home made "C" clips on each side to get it to conform to the "Template" better. This kammback was originally made as a drag racer wing and it took two tries to convert it to a MPG kammback

Gotcha. I might have to try to replicate it when I work on my kammback because I think it looks awesome! Would you mind taking a few pics of the "C" clips you made and some showing how the sides are mounted to the rear glass?

Thanks.

My camera is at the shop. I will try and get some pics of how it is mounted with the "C" clips.

This is a seriously impressive feat. I see many opportunities to improve my VX!

Can you give a basic overview of the side skirt attachments and kammback? Or link to it if that is already outlined...

Cool. Seriously cool.
