96-98 Civic service manual free online
[ EDIT: AS OF 11/25/2012 IT SEEMS THIS LINK IS DEAD. INSTEAD, GO TO HONDAHOOKUP.COM downloads page for Civics, AS RECOMMENDED BY RUSTY94VX IN POST #7 BELOW.]
I just downloaded all 1416 pages for free at:
Auto service & repair manuals: Honda Civic 1996-1998 Service Manual
No viruses or malware detected. Good reading copy.

Thanks for the link! Oh the irony when I try to d/l the "Auto Repair for Dummies" book:
Invalid or Deleted File.
The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

I have the copy I downloaded. Anyone know a good cheap or free way to upload or send a 1416 page PDF file? I'll post it up or send it to anyone, free, in any clearly safe manner.

Nice recommendation. Their 1996-1998 Civic manual appears to be the one I originally linked in this thread. The 1996-2000 file is more than 50% larger and may be more extensive. I have noticed what I thought was a missing section or two in my 1996-1998 download. I have edited the OP to refer to post #7.

This is the link:
Civic - Downloads - Hondahookup.com
... and I added it to the edit at the start of the OP. But you are correct that you have to register to get to the PDFs.
