And that's another reason why the WAI test I did two years ago looked good but might have been misleading. At the time nobody criticized the fact that, lacking cruise control, I used a steady 16.1% throttle position on a flat freeway loop. Since, I have learned on other threads that that was probably not a good strategy. I still run the WAI, on the theory that it must help with pumping losses, since I only have a MAP and not a MAF sensor in my 1998 Honda. But I don't trust my own A-B-A test anymore.
