Interesting!

Maybe instead of covering over the fog light dimples on my Versa I will cut them out and duct them to the wheel-wells. If it doesn't help I can always seal them off again.

/need to stay focused on mirror mods for now!/

Oddly enough, I already have such a duct on the passengers front wheel of my tdi (not on drivers side) for intercooler airflow.

Would be easy to do a comparison side to side.

Can anybody think of a way to tuft test this? I can easily stick my Go Pro to the door/ fender and monitor the tufts, but I have no idea how to mount them.

I would just mount them around the front and back of the fender lip and a few rows behind the wheel opening. Hot glue and yarn?

Blue painters tape and yarn would be my choice, I'm sure hot glue would work.

Not sure how much data that will give, but I'll give it a shot as soon as I can expect a week or so.

I'd put them just aft of the wheel cutouts particularly near the top. I posted some links today on the "Performance Wheel Covers" thread that show studies that demonstrate this .
I've been thinking about using High-Tack Glue Dots from U-Line. They're real sticky but peel right off with a fingernail. very strong in shear. You'd be amazed what they hold.

"testing" complete
Uploading Data Now, be advised that I'm on 3 meg DSL over a 1/2 mile WiFi bridge, so my upstream isn't all that great.
