Agreed. I think that the higher the EPA figure (in L/100k) the bigger the percentage it can be beaten by. But a car with a low EPA figure to start with isn't going to be beaten by a whole lot.
Well, from my experience anyway, for what it's worth!
For example, my EPA is something like 3.5L/100k. If i beat it by 50% i would be getting something like 1.75L/100k, clearly crazy figures! Now, i can do about 2L/100k on the straight and level but that doesn't count for much.
Still, i'm using very little fuel overall so i can't complain!
