different 'Template'

MetroMpg mentioned this and it might help.
At the thread,'Aerodynamic Streamlining Template Part-C' you'll find a more 'current' profile which you might want to compare the VX to.
Your VX's roof appears to be a good 'fit' to the original 'Template',but if the 'faster' roofline will integrate as well, you might see an advantage.
You'll have to make the call.

I made some good progress over Memorial Day Weekend. The new rear quarter is welded in place now. Visually it probably looks the same as the last pic but there it was just fitted in place. Now it is welded and very solid. I gave it some additional seam welds around the wheel arch and suspension mount points. Now I have to seal the seams and do some body filler work on the remaining rust.
I will look at the new template C and see if it can help me with the Kammback.

Blue!!!

Its finally back together (Mostly) and Blue! Bright Island Blue Metallic to be exact. I still have a lot of work to do putting the inside back together and doing the mods, but I got my MPGuino installed. Averaging over 60 on the highway with "normal" driving.

Cardboard Voila!

Starting to work on the Cardboard template for the Kammback. I already have a template cutout for the wheel skirts. Going to transfer the template to ABS plastic once I am happy with the fit. I also got my MPGuino permanently installed in the dash where the rear defroster switch used to be.

awesome placement of the MPGuino...however, since it's recessed into the dash, do you no longer have access to the buttons to allow you to reset your tank and current mpg?

The buttons just poke through the top of the trim on that part of the dash enough to push them.

Ask and Ye shall receive

So I spent some time this weekend working on the VX. Had to replace some non-aero stuff like door gaskets and windshield trim. I also got around to hacking off the driver's side mirror which was already broken and useless. I replaced it with a mirror that seems to have been designed specifically for us Ecomodders. A blindspot mirror made by Pilot I picked up at P*pb*ys auto parts.

It sticks to the windshield with included double sided tape. It fits great and works great and was only $15.

Also made the grill block out of ABS plastic with a tab and slot method of attachment so I can easily switch it out in the winter.
