Consider an Ultragauge for less than half the price of a Scangauge. If you're driving a manual tranny Soul, catch my fuel economy, if you can.

Soulster is driving a manual trans. He also likes driving fast. I would only put him half way on the EM bandwagon. I have offered a month long best MPG race but he is not taking

How do you get 48 MPG out of that box?

Going slow. My only performance mods are a grill block, WAI, and tires inflated to sidewall max. The rest comes from modifying the nut behind the wheel.

The Soul and 1G xB MTs have identical '08 EPA estimates of 26 city, 31 highway, IIRC, and the Cube trails them with poorer city estimates, but the same 31 mpg highway. I considered all three, but the Cube wasn't out, and a new Soul was a lot pricier than a used xB. I sure would like a 6th gear for highway use. My xB buzzes at 3000 rpm @ 60 mph.

Alright the block was great this morning at 16F, temp help 197F on highway (I was late and traveling 80mph the entire way). So if you are eco modding you should be fine.

Weather spotter, you can be such the D bag at times, I have a SPORT tuned SPORTY compact suv. You have a modded econo car, there is no point in trying to compare apples and, well in your case over ripe bananas. Mine is a chick mag, yours....yeah we shall leave it at that.

@ soulster

Did you forget that our cars are EPA rated only 1 MPG diff? Your "sporty tune" is in your foot. change that and you can get close. Add a boat tail and beat my MPG it will get a lot of looks from chicks........ odd looks but you like the odd ones.....

Think I'm finally ready for a front grille block...we shall see how that goes over the summer with 1.5 hour drive through the delta/valley, where the summer temps for my drive home will probably average 95 from now until September.
