Currently have the aero cap torn down to be refitted. Made up some metal brackets to replace the wooden ones in the stake bed holes. Much more sturdy!
Got my new supports in place now...so I won't need any extra supports going to the bed. Yes, I still have to drill the brackets so I can bolt it together on the top.
This is the proposed curve fer the sides now...

I know the PVC pipe layout isn't perfect...kinda hard to hold it with one hand and shoot with the other.
A different angle...

I know I have at least 1 more version after this one. Coroplast to test with...then maybe some FRP sheets as my next/final build. I wonder how easy it is to bend FRP using some heat...
This version will attempt to see how feasible it will be to construct it into 4 major pieces to be able to assemble/disassemble. I might be able to incorporate some side windows in this version fer better rear/side views. It was kinda tough with the earlier versions.
Thinking about making wood strips that I can bend and glue up to git my curve...although I won't rule out using bending aluminum "L" beams either.

Have you got any buddies with an English-wheel? You might could swap out for some nice compound curves in sheet aluminum.I watched an instructor at Oshkosh do some amazing things with one of those.
Nelson Ezell,in Breckenridge,Texas can construct an entire warbird from blueprints, aluminum sheet, and a wheel.Gotta see to believe it!

Actually...I was looking at English wheels. No friends down here with that capability.
Metal is out of my price range at the moment. It's a tough choice when yer on a limited budget fer experiments and want to do a great job. Metal would be ideal though...

Making space fer my cab cover...
This moves the front bulkhead about 9" back. I'll have to figure a way to make an access door fer deploying/storing the cover on the driver's side. I still have to drop the main support beam down and cut/bend the current support brackets so the cover doesn't hang up on it and tear.
Thinking about using some ¾" EMT pipe as my side structure support. Not sure how I'm gonna employ that but it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I think I have a handle on how I'm gonna attach the sides to the bulkhead efficiently...T-nuts!
