any suggestions for my track day car?
i added the VGs last year for the primary purpose to help blow rain off the back window. As only the out edges would blow away, leaving a large separated bubble taking up most of the back window & making hard to see behind me. I added the VGs & anything over 45~mph my back window is damn near dry! But is it hurting/costing me drag? Should I remove the spoiler?
As the car is getting faster & faster, Ill need to add aero to improve grip...i also want to help make the car a little more slippery if possible.
I plan to make a front splitter with an extention to the firewall. I also have a rear diffuser that i'd like to install to help with grip & stability along with smoothing out the whole under trunk area to remove the open voids.

Can you remove the side view mirrors? What about wheel spats (front & rear)? Maybe a grill block? You could also add some wheel covers and/or skirts. What about weight, can you lose anything on the inside? Also, you can do a delete of some of the belt driven stuff (a/c, power steering, alt., fans, etc.). Obviously power steering would be difficult for a race, but you could get an electric one instead.
Just some thoughts, I'm no expert!

Removing the AC belt is enough. And it's easy to do by loosening the tensioner. If it's a track-only car, removing the AC system will help shed fifty pounds or so, and the rear seat and passenger seat another fifty.
Can't close the windows?

Windows have to stay open for safety. I removed the ac and ps years ago. I rather not remove the mirrors as its still a street car and I do use them on the track to watch out for the faster cars.

If they have to stay open, this may be one of those rare cases where commercial rain guards might have a positive effect on aerodynamics.
At the very least, you won't have to suffer due to the lack of AC in the rain...
A front splitter and a wing will help, but you'll suffer from extra drag. I wonder... do class rules prohibit having rear wheel covers?

Ill have to check into that. Maybe do some form of cover...but I need instant/easy access to the lugnuts to check their torque prior to each session. Good idea!

Even in the casual tracking I do, wheel covers are not allowed because they can come off.

Conveyor belt chin spoiler, cut extra long and wear it down on the track to fit.
Yellow Bird Chin Spoiler - Pelican Parts Technical BBS
I know you have something there, but go much deeper for the track.

Number one mod:
More seat time. With an instructor or a coach, depending on your current skill sets and budget.
