Anyone we know? CurbsideClassic posts an aero-Metro spotted in Fort Collins, CO

CC posted an article based on a sighting last week of an aeromodded Metro in Fort Collins, Colorado.

The premise is all wrong, though! The author assumed that the car was recently modded because gas prices have gone up. I think it's far more likely the car has been like this for longer than that.

It's worth a read. Some of the comments are interesting. (I piped up.)

Notable to me on the Metro are those side skirts ... GM seems convinced they're good for drag reduction ( https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthre...rag-36717.html ) . But I've never tested any on my cars.

Likely bought cheap, modded cheap, then one day stored against exigencies. Why not? Takes up same space as (and uses same engine) as an estate tractor.

It sure looks EcoModder-influenced. The screws around the edges of the fender skirt don't seem to go into the body (do I see a hook peeking out behind the leftmost one?), and you can tell there is a horizontal reinforcement strip.
