Professor Alberto Morelli from Italy hmm maybe we should wait for them to build it as we do with all these Chinese crap we get from abroad. It will happen because on the rest of the world gas is $10.00 a gallon.

Just look at their backgrounds and you will see who they were really working for.
The new management was chosen ... they were not forced upon them ... it was not a hostile take over that came with new management ... the new management was a choice that was made ... and it was not made by those people who were the new management... it was made by those in control of Aptera before the new management were even offered the job.

I'm not psychic ... So I don't know what their agenda was , or what they wanted or didn't want ... But as I posted ... I think some of their choices were mistakes ... even if I can see the potential gain if the gamble they took had worked.

While I don't see Detroit having any special power ... it wasn't their choice who the Aptera Management was ... it wasn't their choice what happened in Ca to the Ca company.

Detroit has not been able to kill a wide variety of competition for 'their bone' ... Toyota, Honda, VW, BMW, etc ... and they haven't kill Tesla either ... and I think the reason for that is that Tesla did it right ... they started production small scale first ... then used that small scale to try and leverage their current move to the Model-S.

Aptera had the factory all setup and equipped ... even build a few vehicles off the line , before trying to go for broke and skip the small scale... this would have been the equivalent of Tesla having tried to skip past the Roadster and jump right into full scale production of the Model-S as their first vehicle to customers ... if they had tried to do that like Aptera did ... I think it would have killed them just like it did Aptera.

Corporate guys? Bad news.

The problem with corporate guys and corporations for that matter is that is it is "my way or the the highway" style. They don't listen, they fart bigger than their asses and when they make mistakes we have to pay for them.

On the other hand had they listened to the people and just start selling the vehicle things would've fallen in place little by little. But no, they had to go around changing things and tweaking stuff. Almost 3000 were ready to buy whatever they had in hand but they looked the other way.

The US is full of these stories check what is happening with 123 LiFePo's. They will not sell to the people and the bet on OEMs and now that the OEMs caved in they are taking them with them.

Corporatism is like Communism or anything that has one rule for all solution. Small business and innovation are going to be the difference between getting out of this mess we are in. The people should have the power to decide but the way things are set up we are only the recipients of their stupidity.

Peace

The same people that were running it when it was Accelerated Composites ... Aptera before it was Aptera ... were the same ones that choose to replace the old management with the new management... these are also the same guys that choose to even go in the direction of an Aptera like vehicle at all.

So are you also equally upset with them for even starting the Aptera concept?

While I agree in that they should have continued with the initial sales plan with the initial 1st factory they had set up , etc ... I see it as a gamble the new management took ... I think it was the wrong choice ... but it is not as though there was no reason for it ... they were gambling on up-scaling the production ... which would have reduced the cost per vehicle to make ... economies of scale and such ... the same concept that made the Model-T a success ... it was just too much of a bite to take all at once ... they tried , but failed to pull it off.

If you meant A123 , that is a bit different ... they at least went into production ... even if they are still not a profitable company ... and it is not entirely correct to say they will not sell to people ... I've bought A123 cells ... I know someone that built a PHEV battery pack out of their 20Ah pouch cells ... they do sell them ... but if you are a small sale , expect to be treated as such ... you will not get the kind of customer service most US consumers are used to when they walk into a Walmart ... the product and the company is not setup that way ... if you don't like it ... get your batteries else where.

A123 batteries are good at some things ... but they are not some kind of holy grail of batteries ... depending on the application there are better battery options from other companies.

I do not see the corporatism connection in this Aptera case... please elaborate.

Communism is a very different thing.

Neither one of those is a one rule for all solution.

Aptera was a small business... just not as innovative as some think they were... and they made some bad choices ... it happens.

Most start up companies fail ... that has been true for a very very long time ... it is not new.

People do have the power to decide ... but it is the collective of the people that ultimately make the larger choices ... not individual people... for the good or the bad... from the collective point of view Aptera is a no body , an unknown name for an unknown vehicle ... only in comparatively small % of the U.S. consumer market even knows it exists ... even smaller % would put money down to buy one... a very niche market product.
