Middle East conflict drastically 'improves air quality'

Researchers say that in countries like Syria and Iraq, levels of air pollutants have fallen dramatically.
The amount of nitrogen dioxide in the air over Damascus has fallen by up to 50% since start of the civil war.
The authors believe their work has important lessons for projections of global emissions.

1) Who exactly is the "we" here? Last I checked, the Syrians &c were fignting all on their own.

2) If you bother to look, I think you'll find that most armies in the region wear tan/brown, to match with the sand. That is, when they're official armies with uniforms, and not just a bunch of jihadists.

IMHO, it should be, if not actually illegal, at least unacceptable for any intelligent person to use the weasel-word term "climate change". It's anthropgenic global warming (AGW for short). "Climate change" implies that while it may be happening, we have no idea of the cause, when in fact we do know.
