Ask Mark Fields ...

Well guys today I just may get the chance at an audience with Mark Fields. The number three guy at Ford and Head of Ford North America. So if their are any serious, burning questions out there and I am able to spend any amount of time with him, I would be more than happy to pass on some questions ...

Let me know, otherwise I'll report back with what we talk about.

Laterz,

I wish I had more notice of his visit. Well he came and went, he arrived here in a T-shirt and Jeans, quite the opposite of what I expected. He arrived in his early 80's Datsun 280Z, I'll get the pics up later.

Although he wasn't here to meet with me .. LOL, I was able to get a couple of questions off that made him think. I asked if any of the hybrid technology was going to be migrated to the regular vehicles, like the electric a/c compressor, or perhaps an electric power steering pump in order to boost mileage estimates on non hybrids.

I also asked him if they were going to revive the SVT program and if so if they would ever consider an SVT green program aimed at improving FE which would benefit other areas such as road noise.

He seemed very interested in the topic and promised to get back to my GM, (Who is his friend), in order to explore this venue further with me.

I also took the cheap shot and commented with a well staffed SVT program we could virtually eliminate the need for specialty vehicles like Roush and Shelby who currently are a drain on most dealerships because of inventory requirements.

So who knows, he has a history of listening to others, I may just have gotten the fire lit .. LOL
