I, for one, like the cheap, reliable, automated 80% solution that errs on the side of safety. After watching my temps for a while in the Florida summer I don't know if I can afford to block my grill even partially at highway speeds; but I'd still like to see the build process and performance, when you get that youtube video up.
If your cooling system can't keep up un-modified, you may need to take a closer look at your cooling system. If your coolant is full and properly balanced and your thermostat is working, the radiator is most likely coated with minerals inside. It is a little know fact that only distilled water should go in a radiator to prevent efficiency killing mineral deposits..

The shutter has been installed and working as intended (shutting around 50 mph) for about 150 miles now so I figured it is time to finalize the installation and put the grill back on. I'm sure having it off is not helping my drag one bit.
Bench test of what will be my indicator light housing for the shutter indicator led's. A buddy of mine has a 3D printer so I through an STL file together and did the sanding and painting to make the grooved nylon smooth. Next 3d print project, a custom gauge mount pod for my Scangauge!
