I agree with Funny to make it removable. There is really no reason to go to rivets. Regular fasteners work just fine.

I'd try using rivnuts in existing subframe and underbody holes.

About the rivet idea, I agree with everyone else here about not using them for anything that might need to be removed.
I riveted my pan ( engine pan ) together since it was two sections of aluminum, but I use self tapping screws to actually hold it to the car.
In case I need to change my oil, or any such thing as that, a few screws are all that needs to be removed.
Rivets hold super tight ( After all, rivets are what hold planes together )
Once in place, they are there for good.
