Musk called the bluff of Alameda county.
And Alameda county responded.
First they said Tesla could reopen on May 18th, under a revision of Tesla's health plan, and nothing but the most basic preparations could be done in Fremont before that.
Then when Musk openly ignored the instructions, started up the factory and challenged them to arrest him, Alameda pointed out that a complex business like a car factory has a lot of preliminary work to be done before they could open up for real and yes, there were some people about in Fremont, but inspection revealed they were only preparing for a May 18th restart...!
If they believe that to be true themselves then they must be pining for the fjords.
But just pretend all is in order, in their order, and going as planned.
Alameda had to swallow their pride, but that does not mean they'll digest it too.
Tesla better move out indeed.
