Keeping my eyes peeled, but GF is insisting on me getting me brand new stuff, so the Kosei K1 TS wheels are looking more likely. I will still keep checking car-part.com though, because I have a couple months before my Birthday, and when I need to change out my snow-wheels.

As a side note, I just checked my tires and pumped them up (to 50 PSi) this morning, with a hand pump I just got.

This is a sturdy pump so far and gives you a PSI rating as you go. At this point, I highly recommend it. Only time will tell if it holds up over the years. Also, gives you a good workout. I might want to raise it on some kind of platform next time I have to pump the tires. It's a bit rough on your lower back after several hundred pumps.

tear drop wheels , 14" 4x100 , cheaper than dirt on craigslist , better aero than any other wheel you can find

Teardrops are also the heaviest Mk1 wheels produced iirc, at 19lbs. per wheel. Snowflakes are 16.5 lbs and look a ton better. Le Castellets are a lb lighter than that and even have a smooth face. They came on 89-93 Cabriolets so they should be rather easy to find, especially on vwvortex.

MK II teardrop

around here i do not remember seeing any tear drop wheels until the Mk II cars , and they were mixed in with other types of wheels .
including the "snow flake " wheels and another type of wheel mostly found on the quantum .
another choice
would be early Acura Integra alloy wheels 4x100 and 14"
almost as good as the tear drop wheels in aero and appearance

and
cheaper than dirt on craigslist

the acura wheels will need to have the hubs opened up (machine shop) for use on VW hubs
do not ask how i know that.
