If it stops working then it could mislead the driver into thinking there is no one in his/her blind spot. As long as there is a warning on the dash that the system is offline then it's ok.

My main reason for posting this on this forum was the fact that many delete one or both external mirror(s) all together...so

Again my main focus on this on THIS forum is for people removing or/and changing the stock mirror setups, or who plan to do so like myself, for eco purposes. Needless to say ALWAYS one should look over the should even WITH mirrors...

Mirrors\LEDs never say "Yes"

They only say "No"

You're making an assumption that all vehicles make this possible for the driver, or that all situations involving the vehicle do likewise. They do not.
Emphasizing proper posture, and proper mirror adjustment would be more to the point.

And, as in my post above, there are "mirror solutions" for some vehicles which make head-turning a stupid choice, even when all sight lines are "clear".

Mirror LEDs are a gimmick. In this I would agree with you. Same for turn signals in mirrors. As neither are required eqipment -- thus only installed on a few cars -- their viability is suspect from several directions.
