Blind spot solution that'd be great for mirror delete!
The other day on the freeway I pulled up next to this Chrysler town & country (I am pretty sure it was) and noticed this little AMBER LED in his mirror, and I know there are factory and aftermarket turn signals in the mirrors but this was just a little dot, and it was puzzling me why it would be lit, thinking that'd bother me if it was my car!
So after pulling forward (in relation to him) I notice it went off, now it had caught my curiosity, so I slowed down again to see it come back on, etc etc so I figured out that this was a blind spot indicator based on some sensors and yep found this just now on Youtube:
Would love to do something similar! GREAT IDEA if you ask me!

On both my pick up truck and vintage 911 I can tell someone is in my blind spot by how much resistance I encounter. If I'm breaking someone else's wind I can feel it from the sudden increase/pushing and then slow down I experience.
I once had a big black SUV in my blindspot, I knew he/she was there even before I looked, not based on sound or sight, but on the effects of their mass beside me. Ever since then I've trained myself to notice the tell tale signs.

I'm not even going to ask how that works, I usually stick to breaking my OWN "wind"....

Someday I'm going to take a video of my wide angle $5 mirror that eliminates blind spots. Sure beats installing sensors and LED's.

Are they INSIDE the car? For those (crazy? of us) who want to have NO outside mirrors it could be invaluable....

Yep, self-adhesive "wedge" mirror stuck to the interior rear view. Best of all, it's cheap and found in Target/Walmart/Meijer's bike section.
I've got no outside mirrors and couldn't be happier.

Ok but you have to agree that there are times when these sensors would be worth it! I am not afraid of the installing them, but more price..

There are only a handful of times when I've almost merged into someone and I'll hazard a guess that a little LED would not have changed that. Perhaps it will be more effective for the TC's target market: distracted soccer moms (no offense).

I used MULTIVEX mirror overlays on a couple of vehicles. Will have to change my oem towing mirrors for an after market brand to use them again. Work best on a large glass surface (ease of use; little adjustment period). Makes turning ones head a time-waster, concentration-breaker and the unintelligent thing to do once installed.
