Bonneville salt flats
Just realized I now live less than 2 hours from Bonneville salt flats and speed week is the 10-16. 2 days away!

What criteria does a bot use to choose a thread to spam in?

The question arose in my mind finally after seeing so many spam messages. Any idea how bots select a thread? Is it random selection? How does it traverse the options even if it is random selection?

I kid at your expense. Sorry.
It is an interesting question. How many posts are deleted before they are seen by s simian? If the deletion metadata went into a bucket, something interesting might fall out.
IIRC there were cases where the bot responded and was then deleted. Do they ever engage, or is it all hit-and-run? (might that have been a not-bot?)
A list of the links disallowed in first posts might reveal something. Or allow counterstrikes.

Every post has a unique identifier.
