Brake dust collector. Also helps with aerodynamics?
I have been curious about those brake dust collectors that keep you rims clean. They collect the dust but they might also have positive effect on the airflow through your rims. Has anyone installed these? Thanks in advance if anyone responds Discount Brakes - 1995 Honda Civic VX 4 Cyl 1.5L Brake Dust Covers
Here is the link where I found the collectors

They're certainly better than nothing at all. How much better? I wouldn't even begin to hazard to guess. You'd still have airflow going across the wheel rim itself.

Brake dust is that filth that uglifies the wheels of those of us who use the cheapy brake pads.
I just refinished the Coupe's alloys and took pains to sand the backsides of the rims down, paint them (and the bead areas), and wax the living **** outta them front and back. Hopefully the filth will wash off more easily.
Oh my such beautiful wheels- the ones near drums will stay this way much longer. <3 Wish the rest of the car matched.
Anyway re: guards helping aero: I think they should in theory; in practice I doubt you'll be able to detect the difference.

He was implying that he does so little braking, that there is no residue build up. I hope you were joking... Lol

Oooooooh. My 18 year old truck is still wearing the factory brake pads so ya know I'm not on the brakes that much and yet my front wheels are covered with that filth. Same with the car. Or anything I own, really. Not a big fan of disc brakes.

I was being facetious. I know what brake dust looks like. I've seen brake dust on other people's wheels, but I've never seen it on my wheels, even several weeks after my last trip to the car wash. I must be doing something wrong....

There is something to be said for reducing the amount of brake dust expelled into our streets, then into our oceans and bodies of water. As the website
"Eco- modder" we should also be aware of our local ecology. I am a surfer so I realize what washes of our cars and roads go directly into our oceans.

I took it to mean you had higher-end "dustless" or ceramic or ? sort of fancy pads which supposedly don't create such a mess while I stated I use the el-cheapo variety.
