Bucket List (What is yours?)
Just wondering what everybody's bucket list consists of and what has already been checked off in the past?!
I'll start with some car related ones:
- Would love to be in a helicopter and watch traffic develop just to see what causes such sudden slow downs and whatnot (also take a helicopter ride )
- Take a road trip around N.A. (Obviously with a super high mileage vehicle!)
And some non-vehicle ones:
- Island hop the Pacific
- Take a trip somewhere and bring nothing but the clothes on my back (because we will get everything we need when we get there!)
- Fly a jet (F-15, F-18, F-22, I'm not picky )

Finishing a marathon is probably the number one thing I've accomplished.
Now I want to run one in every state
Being able to write for a living is a pipe dream, if not really a bucket list item. (It turns out I suck at writing anything other than papers for English class )
And maybe getting a 900 mile tank out of this Jetta...which as far as I know has never been done on a MkVI.

Congrats on your marathon. I could do about half a mile ! After which:
You should start a blog, you never know where it might end up!
A 900 mile tank on my Corolla would be awesome! I currently get 390-400, depending on how much I want to push the last gallon or less.

Saw this commercial and had to add this to my 'when I'm filthy rich' bucket list.
Because when I am 'filthy rich' I would own a plane of course!
(I was in marching band in high school... I appreciate music!)

Import a diesel G Wagon, camperize it as much as possible, sell all my cars and my place. Even the ones I said I'd never sell in a million years, just dump all of it, then just drive around the world, or even just NA/SA. And never have to deal with the car business again, or any business at all for that matter. Can a lifestyle choice be considered a "bucket list" item?

Write for a living? Half-check. As in, the checks only pay half the bills.
Learn how to heel-and-toe? Check.
Learn how to do the scandinavian flick? Check.
Break 150 mph? Check.
Learn how to hypermile? Check.
Wife and kids? Check.
---
Waiting:
Cycle cross country (any country) in a velocipede.
Take a looooong train ride.
Seat time in a fighter or aerobatic plane.
Break 100 mpg in a four-seat car with AC.
Restore a Beetle. or. Turn the rusting hulk of a Beetle in to topiary sculpture or modern art.
Fly a human-powered vehicle.
Build my own car.

My bucket list is fairly short. To see my inspiration become reality with global implications in energy conservation, storage, and application.
If that happens then everything else will come with that success, but I will probably be too old to enjoy the fruits of that labor.
The real fruit of that labor will be to see some recognition of the efforts involved in convincing people of the real innovation involved in the effort. If that includes financial benefits, that would be nice, but I doubt it will come in time for me, and that's OK.
regards
Mech

Does 165 MPH in a Piper Cherokee Six at 2 feet above the road count?
