I actually met a guy a few months back who was a Saab exclusive mechanic. He loved them, actually drove one over to my house. Was modified it seemed, unless they come factory with a giant front mount intercooler.
Anywho, when he saw my Subaru setting in the driveway he wasn't impressed. Apparently there is some real brand loyalty there.
I'll be missing Saab more than Pontiac and Saturn though. At least Saab made interesting cars.

The pre-GM Saab owners are pretty religious about their cars. My friend had a late 1970's SAAB 99 (or 900?) that he drove into the ground.

I always thought it strange that the windshields on early nineties Saabs were so vertical, yet the cars were supposedly pretty aero from what I had read.
When someone says Saab, I never think of the cars anyways, but rather this awesome machine :

We cant understand non-V8 engines because that ain't whut NASCAR uses...

I had a friend who won't feel she looks Swedish enough without a real Saab. The model she drove had a windshield that looked uncommonly vertical in side view, but uncommonly round and aircraft-like in plan view.

The car 'born from jets' is being bought out by the car company that puts propellers on everything. Ironic?
