Electric Saab Sonett

Hi everyone,

Do you remember the Saab Sonett? Very cool little sports car in the early seventies.

I have heard some suggestions that it would make a great electric car conversion. The body is fiberglass, it's very light, and front-wheel drive.

I found some videos on an electric Sonett conversion HERE

The best part? This conversion was done about 20 years ago!

I met a guy this summer at the Midwest Renewable Energy Association fair who is a Saab collector.

It turns out that he now owns the Sonnet that I was originally going to look at with thoughts of using for an EV conversion.

Small world, eh?

I saw a 74 Sonnet in an auto trader magazine once. First time I had ever heard of a V4 engine.
