Which came first?

Remember the Ford Aerostar and how they compared it to the Space Shuttle? well....

I am a little confused about the caption on the picture. I think this may predate the Space Shuttle. NASA engineers probably saw this on their way fishing.

I wonder if this has a flux capacitor? Hmmmmm.....

Aerostar was circa 1985. Space shuttle was first launched in 1981 but probably in development for years before that. Aerostar could have been designed first but we saw the shuttle first.

I dont remember the Aerostar being compared to the space shuttle, but I do remember the GM APVs being compared to it.

I used to drive an Aerostar. I always thought it looked like a Star Trek shuttlecraft.
