When is the sun truly up?

I went to bed just after 1 and wanted to wake up at 6 to work on my car, but I wasn't driving to Holbrook, seeing two clients, and then driving to Mesa to see my girlfriend on less than 5 hours of sleep!

Well, I woke up around 5:30, for no apparent reason! I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got up at 6. I wasted half an hour on the computer, but it was still dark when I went out! I came in at 8 and the sun still wasn't over the houses, so I was using my headlamp when working under my hood and grabbing tools from the garage.

I worked the outer hose back over the other hose, removed the gasketmaker that I could from the bolt hole, but a larger brush from the $5 kit would have worked better.

I also removed some grease that I had missed.

I split a pea-sized amount of Hondabond where the two sides of the timing cover bolted to the head--and realized that only about half of that area was under the valve cover!

I started stretching the gasket into the grooves, but there was still grease in there. I tried using my wire brush, which was too wide, and only got wider as it got messed up--and greased up--more and more.

I hurredly folded up a shop towel and ran it around.

I tried to hand-tighten the fasteners, but it was seventeen degrees!

I learned that if you make your own bolt tightening diagram and print in black and white you need to put the numbers next to the arrows!

I bolted down the head, put my oil pan heater on it, and placed two fire bricks on top.

I spent time I didn't have writing this!

I fixed the oil leak, but broke off the ignition coil connector tabs

Only two popped off, but I am missing all 4, so I wonder if a previous owner lost one or two--and didn't even bother zip-tying them so they wouldn't vibrate loose!

I drove down to see my girlfriend and the valve cover still looks clean. The zip ties are holding so far, but the plastic tabs broke, I don't think that zip ties will last better--although they are vastly cheaper.

I was getting ready to drive home today when Mom said there was a bad snowstorm and it wasn't safe. They have since downgraded their forecast, but I have enough problems as it is, I don't want to add reduced visibility and traction!

I looked up the harness and found a video of a guy saying "Just zip-tie it!" Someone asked "Why didn't you replace part number 90980-11885?!" and someone else linked this video: It was Google's fourth suggested video, but the second was some site's stolen copy of it!

The part number is 90980-11885 and four were $25.74 from Ballenger Motorsports, but the dealer would have charged over $45!

Most likely I'd rather just use the zip ties. Not sure if you know what gambiarra means in my country, but even if something at least resembling the original part would be preferable over zip ties I'm sure a makeshift could be at least attempted with some random scrap material at home.

Ah yes. I thought I replaced something else. Some Brazilian messaged me and I told her that I had been fixing my car for 2 weeks. Maybe it was still being a little sleepy, but I didn't understand her message, so I used Google Translate, and I didn't have any idea how to explain what took so long, so I used Google Translate again.

I sure hope that I am learning something from translating messages back and forth!

Before I drove back I smelled burning oil and popped the hood. I saw a little oil, but all of it was below the the area I repaired, like I hadn't cleaned all of it, so I will clean my engine bay again when it is above freezing.

So far so good!

A real Brazilian would invite oneself to go there and try a makeshift/gambiarra fix

I have had women repeatedly ask me to invite them.
"Invite you how?"
"Invite me to visit you as your fiancée!"
"I hear my mom calling me. Got to go, bye!"
