SAE Papers Worth the money?

I was looking for Aero info and stumbled across this:

881874 : Pickup Truck Drag Reduction Devices That Reduce Drag Without Limiting Truck Utility

as well as some others...

Are they worth the money?

Several are, some aren't, in my experience.

You'll be better off to read the abstract, and maybe ask around here if anyone has a copy of it they could loan you. Also, check your local library, and check with local universities and see if you could borrow some "reading" material from them. They probably won't let you leave with the copies, but you can at least take notes.

Sae

Bow,that particular paper is condensed in the Phil Knox Aerodynamic Photo Albums.
Somebody posted the table from it yesterday at another thread here at the aero forum.
The thing about SAE,is that it's good science. These folks sweat details we haven't even heard about. And unlike "cold-fusion" the results can be duplicated world-wide.
They're more expensive than in the past thanks to Paul Voelker,Alan Greenspan, and Ben Bernenke.
See if you can get a synopsis before you buy, making sure it addresses your interest.

You can also copy SAE papers at your local University.

I used to spend some time up in Madison, WI at the Physics Library where the SAE papers are located.

Depending on the paper and your interest, they can be very price competitive.

Jim.

Just get copies from a university library. Unless you live really far from one, it's the cheapest way to go.
